For over 100 years and four generations, the Turner family has passionately served our customers New England's freshest, best tasting seafood. In 1920, our grandfather James Turner emigrated from Newfoundland and began his career on the Boston Fish Pier. He opened Turner's Fisheries in 1954 which eventually evolved into our current wholesale seafood company, J. Turner Seafoods in historic Gloucester, Massachusetts. His son, John Turner purposely designed the new company to accommodate reduced fish landings and strict government regulations initiated during the 1980s.
J. Turner wholesale fish plant and market in Gloucester distributes only the finest quality seafood available. The company wholesales to customers across the country with deliveries made via their own trucks, common carrier trucks, the airlines, and overnight express carriers. Traditional New England ground fish and shellfish complemented by steak fish flown in fresh daily from all over the world comprise the core products of J. Turner Seafoods. Imported fresh and frozen specialties as well as live lobsters complete the raw seafood product line. Our soups and all prepared items are made fresh daily at our restaurants, Turner's Seafood Grill & Market, Melrose, MA and Turner's Seafood @ Lyceum Hall, Salem, MA.
In 2010, J Turner Seafoods launched its online shipping store, Dock to Door. With the COVID 19 pandemic, overnight shipping companies stopped guaranteeing next day deliveries and the Dock to Door store was forced to suspend operations. With express shippers now back fully operational, Turner's has revamped and relaunched its Dock to Door store with a new online ordering platform. It is now easier than ever to receive the freshest, highest quality seafood on the planet, the next day.
